Government Accreditation

The Australian Butler School is a Government Registered Training Organisation and units of the course are ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) accredited.  ASQA's vision is that students, employers and governments have full confidence in the quality of vocational education and training outcomes delivered by Australian Registered Training Organisations.

Cost of the course is tax deductible and GST exempt.  The Statement of Attainment issued to graduates is recognised by employers and agencies world-wide.

Why is Government accreditation important?

As a Registered Training Organisation, the Australian Butler School is required to meet the strict conditions of governance and operation required by the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning

The Australian Butler School recognises prior learning that is applicable to programs, courses or subjects, modules or competencies offered by the School.  This means that the School recognises skills and knowledge students have acquired through previous study, work or life experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning is specifically:

  • formal training in a similar course/institution
  • formal training in a related course
  • work experience in the profession/industry
  • work experience in a related profession/industry
  • life experience

The Australian Butler School recognises both qualifications and Statements of Attainment within the AQF issued by any other RTO and studies undertaken at non-accredited or higher education institutions both domestically and internationally where relevant to the School's program/s.

Exemptions and Credits

RPL can be granted in a number of forms:

  • Exemption from or credit for a subject/s (all attendance and assessment requirements)
  • Exemption from or credit for part of a subject (some attendance and assessment requirements)

Where no documentation is available or documentation is inadequate, the applicant may be asked to undertake an exam where attainment of the competencies for which RPL is sought can be demonstrated. This exam can take the form of short or long written responses, oral and/or practical tests by a qualified assessor.

Applicants for RPL should complete and submit an Application for RPL supplying adequate documentary evidence to support their application such as transcripts and subject and course descriptors, name and contact details of referees.   Applications for RPL may be requested from the School Office.
